Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”
